Ear Piercing Health & Safety Policy
Practice Hygiene Policy
Hygiene is of the utmost importance to all our Empresses. Empress Waxing & Healing operates with meticulous standards of hygiene. We use a TGA-certified autoclave to sterilise all of our equipment.
Children’s Piercings
At Empress Waxing & Healing, your child’s comfort, well-being, and safety are always the highest priority. Ear piercing can only be performed when a child is calm, comfortable, and willing to participate in the procedure.
For health and safety reasons, ear piercing will not be carried out if a child is:
Unsettled or distressed
Crying excessively
Unwell or showing signs of illness
Overtired or fatigued or hungry
Grumpy, resistant, or unable to remain still safely
To help create a calm and comfortable environment, only one parent or accompanying adult may be present in the room during the piercing appointment, as multiple people in the room can sometimes cause children to feel overwhelmed or anxious.
This policy is in place to ensure a safe, hygienic, and positive experience for both the child and practitioner. If needed, appointments may be rescheduled for another day when your child is feeling happier and more relaxed.
It may be advantageous to give the child some paracetamol prior to the appointment (with their doctor’s approval).
Your child will be given a free toy (age-appropriate) to help foster a positive experience for the child.
Post-care antiseptic spray for routine after-care is available for purchase online or at the premises. We highly encourage that you use this spray twice a day as recommended for at least 6-8 weeks or until necessary.
